Paul Pierce Says He Will Play Tomorrow, Doc Not So Sure
February 6, 2010 by Nick Gelso
Though the Celtics are still being held back by nagging injuries, the line-up is limping closer to being intact for the first time in the 2009-10 season. Today Paul Pierce told the Boston Globe,
“I feel pretty good, light practice, I’m good to go tomorrow,” Pierce said. “It’s a lot better than it was yesterday, so it’s improving, not quite 100 percent, but it’s good enough for me to play on. It’s a matter of healing, it’s a little sprain, mid-foot. It really hurt, last couple days, but I’ve been getting necessary treatment and it’s getting better every day. I feel like I could have went last game but I’m really ready to go.”
It is also reported that Marquis Daniels is a possible go for tomorrow’s game against Orlando at the Garden. Doc had this to say about Daniels and Pierce,
“Marquis looked pretty good, actually, besides not knowing any of our stuff,” Rivers said. “Paul, I’m more concerned — if he’s hesitant at all, we’ll pass on the game with him tomorrow. I would say 50-50 with both of them.”
Can this be the turning point that we’ve all been waiting for this season?
I think, once the line-up is intact and at full speed, the Boston Celtics will be in full stride by late February and ready to rock through March and roll into the playoffs.
This may be a naive and overly positive opinion but after this season of discontent, isn’t it fair to think a little positively?
